You’re not fooling anyone by ordering according to the highest ABV

A lot of alcoholics think they’re getting away with something with this trick.

My dad chooses his beer order according to the ABV. He used to drink lite beer but at some point, he switched to IPA and craft beer when ordering out. He did this because beer lists at most restaurants list the ABV of their local and craft beers along with a little description. He doesn't choose by flavor or price, he orders anything with an 8% or higher. He will say emphatically ‘I had ONE beer!’ when he’s had three and we will both know that each one was at least 8%.

I know he is ordering based on ABV because what he buys to drink at home is 24oz Natty Daddy cans or 42oz Steel Reserve both of which smell and taste disgusting but have an 8% ABV.

He’s not a craft beer connoisseur. He’s a drunk.

If you find yourself ordering based on the highest ABV please take some time to reflect on your health and happiness and the role alcohol plays in your life.

I love you. Drink some water.
